Electrical Harness Design Engineer – Commercial Vehicles

Required Skills/Experience:

• Experience in Automotive Domain, worked on OEM programs in the electrical harness design
• Sound understanding of vehicle electrical architecture & main electrical system
• Design and develop 2D wiring harness layouts & optimized 3D routing paths for vehicle body compartments using CATIA V5/V6.
• Design 3D models, assemblies and detail 2D drawings within CATIA V5/V6 from conceptual designs, reverse engineering layouts, or legacy data
• Determining of suitable wiring materials, shielding, protections based on surrounding parts/geometry
  Develop effective routing paths of 3D Model with the help of retainers, channels, grommets, etc.
• Design brackets, trays, enclosures, grommets and other components to support wiring harness design and electrical modules packaging
• Generate accurate bills of materials (BOMs) for harness components.
• Maintain and update design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
• Conduct 3D interference checks to ensure proper component clearance within the vehicle body
  Communicate with customers and team members regarding project scope, changes and/or deadlines.
• Collaborate with other members of the product development team to ensure that designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet customer requirements
• Make decisions concerning personal time management and task prioritization to deliver quality service, on time and under budget
• Extensive experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6
• Exhibits outstanding interpersonal skills, able to work in a team environment, quality & time focused, independently prioritize the completion of tasks, resolution of issues, etc.
• Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
