Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Instrument Engineer with experience in SPI (Smart Plant
Instrumentation) to join our engineering team for an Oil & Gas project. The successful
candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation
systems, ensuring accurate data collection, control, and automation processes in line with
project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop instrumentation systems using SPI (Smart Plant
Instrumentation), ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry
standards. - Create and maintain instrument datasheets, specifications, and documentation.
- Perform instrument loop design, cable schedules, and instrumentation installation
details. - Provide technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning, installation, and
operation of instrumentation systems. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of
instrumentation systems into the overall plant design. - Conduct hazard analysis and ensure the instrumentation design complies with safety
regulations and standards. - Assist in procurement activities by preparing material requisitions, evaluating vendor
bids, and selecting appropriate instruments. - Perform regular checks and updates of instrument databases to ensure accuracy in
SPI. - Coordinate with project teams, clients, and vendors to ensure smooth execution of
instrumentation-related tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related
field. - 5+ years of experience as an Instrument Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency in SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation) software for designing and
managing instrumentation systems. - Strong knowledge of instrumentation equipment, control systems, and process
automation. - Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, API, ANSI) and regulatory
compliance. - Experience in design, specification, and testing of control and measurement
instruments. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with a focus on meeting
deadlines and quality standards.
Experience
- Previous experience with SPI in an Oil & Gas environment is essential.
- Hands-on experience in instrument installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working on upstream or downstream Oil & Gas projects is a plus
